GREG JELLISON, P.E.

Principal, Public Works

Greg Jellison came to the firm (then Hopper Dennis) in 1996 and joined Brian Hopper and Tom Dennis as a principal in 1999.

As the firm’s Public Works Manager, he oversees all of its public works projects. In the past fifteen years he has performed project management and design for a number of Clark County projects, including N.E. 162nd Ave. and Padden Parkway Middle and East sections, as well as for many private subdivisions.

Greg has been personally responsible for establishing the presence of HDJ Design Group in the public sector, taking pride in building long-standing relationships with agency partners. He is responsible for ensuring that the organizational structure of every project is optimal for success, and he implements each project’s strategic plan to achieve its short term goals and long term vision.

Before joining HDJ Design Group, Greg worked as a Project Engineer with Kittitas County Public Works from 1993 to 1996, Greg managed the engineering division and was responsible for design, survey, right of way acquisition, and construction, taking projects from application for funding through construction completion and refining his proficiencies in dealing with federally funded projects. He helped prepare Kittitas County’s six-year Transportation Improvement Program and annual road budget, and he was responsible for all project management, contract administration, and construction management and supervision.

Prior to 1993, as a Design Engineer, Project Engineer, and Development Review Engineer for Clark County, he gained extensive experience in street and storm drainage design, project management, contract administration, agency regulations and coordination, and public communication.

Greg’s diverse background across public and private sectors allows him to accurately view and understand a project from both the client’s and the engineer’s perspective. In so doing, he is quick to recognize and resolve key design issues and constraints early in the process. His broad background helps him relate to the public and successfully communicate a project’s vision to all stakeholders.
